Prepare New Galvanized Steel for Stove Bright® Paint Application

For the best results when painting new galvanized steel pipe with Stove Bright®, follow these
surface preparation steps:
1. Clean and penetrate commercial sealant typically used over galvanized pipe by washing
with 1 part vinegar to 1 part water. Let that dry; then rinse thoroughly with clean warm
water. Dry with a clean cloth.
2. Lightly sand the surface with 220 grit sandpaper to create a profile. Wipe the surface
with a clean cloth with a small amount of Acetone to lift the debris left by sanding.
3. Apply Paint within 4 hours of the cleaning and sanding process.
After preparing the pipe according to the instructions above, follow the application and heat set
steps outline in the Stove Bright® User Guide.
